Like so many others, I was hoping that old Herc’s plight was the inadvertent fallout of a loving owner’s death. But what you found is just so pitifully predictable. Cheat on Medicare, buy Ferraris, send a loyal old horse to a terrifying death. This is why cynicism is practical; it saves SO much time.
